How many tiles do I need?
Multiply the room's length by its width to get square footage, add your waste allowance, then divide by the area of one tile. Straight layouts need 10% extra for cuts and breakage; diagonal and herringbone patterns waste more at the edges, so use 15%. Always buy the full amount in one order — tile dye lots vary, and a matching box six months later is never guaranteed.
